Wickes sets 10th metro L.A. unit

CERRITOS, Calif. — Wickes Furniture plans a grand opening ceremony on Aug. 22 for its 10th store in the Los Angeles market, on 183rd Street here. The 34,000-square-foot store will employ 27 full- and part-time workers.
Jim Mancaruso, formerly store manager at Wickes' Torrance, Calif., unit, will be the Cerritos store manager. The sales manager will be David Steppe, previously sales manager for the Costa Mesa, Calif., store.
The midpriced warehouse showroom and satellite store chain currently has 39 units in six metro markets, including Portland, Ore.; Chicago; Minneapolis; Pittsburgh; Dallas/Fort Worth and Los Angeles.
Wickes is based in Wheeling, Ill.
