Douglas Campbell, Thomasville retailer
PORT JEFFERSON , N.Y. — Douglas Campbell, who with his father founded Campbell & Co. and opened the first Thomasville dedicated store in the Northeast in 1987, has died after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 37.
Campbell, a 19-year industry veteran, was a principal in the company and manager of the Thomasville Home Furnishings store in Coram, N.Y., one of six New York stores operated by Campbell. A seventh is expected open in Nanuet, N.Y., in September.
With his father, John Campbell, Douglas helped pioneer the Thomasville dedicated store network. Before joining his father in the business, Douglas was an assistant case goods buyer at the former Barker Bros.
Survivors include his wife, two daughters, his father; a brother, Jeff Campbell, manager of Campbell's Garden City, N.Y., store; two sisters and six nieces. A brother-in-law, Peter Woram, is director of financial reporting for the company.

David Charles Roffey, Canadian sales rep
COBOURG , Ontario — David Charles Roffey, a veteran Canadian sales representative for a number of furniture makers, has died.
He began his career at Vilas Inds. before launching his own sales agency, David C. Roffey Ltd., here. He represented Pennsylvania House for over 20 years, as well as Barrymore Furniture, Colonial Furniture, Conover Chair, Frederick Cooper and Tyndale Lighting, Statton Furniture and Tradition House. He retired in 1998.
His son, David S. Roffey, worked for many years with his father and is a sales agent for Barrymore, Frederick Cooper and Tyndale, Leda Furniture and Tradition House.
His brother, Bill Roffey, is vice president of sales and marketing for Gibbard Furniture of Napanee, Ontario.
Roffey also is survived by his wife, a daughter, a son and four grandchildren.
He was involved in raising funds for a new local hospital, and the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Northumberland Health Care Center Foundation, P.O. Box 517, Cobourg, Ontario K9A 4L3.
Clem Walls, National Furniture Mart supervisor
HIGH POINT — Clemon "Clem" Walls Sr., loading dock supervisor at the National Furniture Mart and a longtime fixture at High Point markets, has died. He was 64.
Walls began working at the showroom building now known as the National Furniture Mart in 1975. He stayed at the building through ownership changes, and was employed by current owner Merchandise Mart Properties Inc.
He is survived by his wife and six children. One son preceded him in death.
