By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, June 24, 2002

Larry Liebenow, president and chief executive officer of Quaker Fabric, has been named chairman of the United States Chamber of Commerce board for 2002-2003.

Liebenow has served on the chamber's board since 1996 and was vice chairman in 2001-2002. He also has worked closely with the chamber's Center for International Private Enterprise, an affiliate that works to build democracy and market economies around the world.

As chairman, he will work with state and local chambers, American chambers abroad and with other groups to educate business leaders on issues such as trade, tax relief and improving the image of business.

"Larry Liebenow is a distinguished member of the business community and brings an impressive blend of political savvy and broad international experience to this position," said Thomas J. Donahue, U.S. Chamber president and CEO.
