Fabric contest seeks entries

NEW YORK — NEW YORK — Cotton Inc. is seeking submissions for its 21st Textile Designer Awards competition.
Acknowledging the changing marketplace, the program embraces products of all-cotton and cotton-rich blends.
Awards will be presented in five home furnishings categories: decorative fabrics, prints, technical achievement, bed fashions and bath fashions. There also are five categories for apparel fabrics. Criteria include the designer's ability to add aesthetic value and functional effectiveness to the fabrics.
"We'll be looking at a diverse array of fabric constructions," said Dean Turner, senior vice president, global product marketing for Cotton Inc.
All fabrics submitted must be commercially available and received by Cotton Inc. by July 19. In addition to a fabric samples, submissions must include the category, designer's name, company affiliation, address and phone number. Entries should be sent to Cotton Inc. Textile Designer Awards, 6399 Weston Parkway, Cary, N.C. 27513.
The awards will be presented Sept. 17 in New York.
