EL PASO, Texas — Upholstery maker Coventry Furniture Mfg. has signed a five-year lease for a 2,400-square-foot showroom at the World Market Center in Las Vegas as part of a seven-year plan to nearly quadruple in size.
Coventry, which makes stationary upholstery in the $399 to $699 price points, had revenues of $4 million last year, said President Ted McKee.
He said he believes the Las Vegas showroom will help position the company to meet its planned growth to $15 million.
The company's primary market areas are in the Southwest, said McKee. He expects to expand into Nevada, California, Oregon and Washington.
"We just want to have good, steady growth," he said.
Coventry's showroom will be on the ninth level of the first phase of the World Market Center, scheduled to open in early 2004.
The company currently exhibits at regional shows in Kansas and Arizona, and also at two furniture rental shows.
