The 25th Showtime
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, June 24, 2002
HIGH POINT — HIGH POINT — The 25th edition of Showtime will open July 8 with its largest number of exhibitors ever.
More than 206 members of the International Textile Market Assn., including 125 in temporary spaces at Suites at Market Square, will introduce the latest upholstery fabrics and other home furnishings fabrics and trims.
Special events scheduled include color and trend presentations by Pantone and Cotton Inc., and a first-time exhibit highlighting trends from 20 of Italy's top producers of leather and synthetics.
The annual Runway Fashion Show, featuring the latest upholstery fabrics transformed into apparel, displayed by live models and accompanied by commentary and music, is set from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9 in a new venue at Showplace, 211 East Commerce St.
Sponsors for the event, produced by Furniture/Today and Home Textiles Today, include Crypton Super Fabrics, Milliken Fabric, Costa Blanca Textile Inds., Textile Fabric Associates, Sunbrella and DuPont.
The program includes complimentary food and beverages.
| Americana was big at Showtime's January edition, with stars-and-stripes looks like these at Textile Fabric Associates. At the July show, the theme will return in a more subdued, home-sweet-home form with country looks, traditional florals and scenic tapestries. |
