WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. — WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. — Hi-Tex, developer of Crypton Super Fabrics, has expanded the line with Fusion, a new product for residential or contract applications that features optical play between metal and fiber and allows use of either side of the fabric.
"Designers who have had a sneak peek at Fusion immediately imagined it on everything from barstools to headboards," said Randy Rubin, co-founder of Hi-Tex.
At Showtime in High Point next month, Crypton fabrics can be seen in the showrooms of John Leagon, Ametex/Robert Allen, Duralee, Kravet, Mastercraft, Peachtree, Sunbury and Valdese Weavers.
Crypton was introduced nine years ago and more than 16 million yards have been sold as prints, solids, wovens, piece-dyed jacquards and faux suede.
"We entered the market with a basic heat-transfer print product," Rubin said. "Today we are proud to bring designers performance fabrics that can easily be classified as edgy and sumptuous and fashion-forward…. We are able to serve not only the hospitality and health care industries, but the residential market as well."
Twenty base colors yield 40 matte and metallic color possibilities. The palette includes amethyst, mica, glimmering sea and tanzanite.
