Burstein launches Exclusives

ST. LOUIS — Interior designer/retailer Caryn L. Burstein is lending her creative touch to case goods and occasional furniture through a new custom manufacturer here called Exclusives Furniture.
Burstein launched her design business, CLB Designs, in 1987. In 1997, she opened a store selling furniture and accessories, also called Exclusives Furniture.
The manufacturing venture grew out of the frustration she and her clients experienced when they couldn't find furniture that was exactly what they wanted. The 30,000-square-foot Exclusives factory can make pieces in virtually any style, size, color and finish.
In April, Burstein introduced four collections, each available in maple, bird's-eye maple, cherry and ebony finishes. The furniture can be seen on the manufacturer's Web site, www.exclusivesfurniture.com, although Burstein isn't selling over the Internet.
Burstein is seeking a permanent High Point showroom, although she isn't planning introductions in October.
