New-format Badcocks debut in Alabama, Florida

MULBERRY, Fla. — Top 100 retailer W.S. Badcock has launched two more new-format Badcock Home Furniture & More stores, in Auburn, Ala., and Winter Garden, Fla.The 17,000-square-foot Auburn unit, which replaces the Opelika store, is owned and operated by Rob Alexander.
The Winter Garden store is also 17,000 square feet and is managed by Brian Elkins.
More than 19 Badcock stores have converted to the new format, which the company said has resulted in sales increases from 20% to 70%. The goal is for 80% of Badcock's 340 stores to be converted to the new format by 2004.
