NHFA to examine human resources

HIGH POINT — The National Home Furnishings Assn.'s Center for Professional Education will host the Human Resources Institute in Atlanta Sept. 29-30. The program is structured for human resources professionals and others who manage people.
Topics for the first day will include recruitment, hiring, training, retention and performance evaluation and management. The speaker will be Carol A. Hacker, an experienced trainer and the author of 11 business books.
The second day will focus on employment law. Atlanta attorney Forrest Hunter will cover such subjects as wage and hour regulations, employee protection laws, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Civil Rights Act, affirmative action and sexual harassment.
