Easygates opens first Easyhome store

One of three planned for Kansas City metro area

Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, November 25, 2008

OLATHE, Kansas — Easygates LLC, which recently became the franchisor for the Easyhome rent-to-own chain in 36 states, has opened its first Easyhome store here.

The store is one of three planned for the Kansas City metro area before the end of the year.

"Greg Wohler, our director of operations, has put together a great team, led by store manager David Herrera," said Bud Gates, chairman and CEO of Easygates. "The Easyhome concept has proven to be very successful, and we believe consumers in Olathe will love the outstanding customer service they will experience at our store."

Easyhome, Canada's largest rent-to-own operator, has six other U.S. stores near the Canadian border. Easygates has franchise rights for the 36 states that don't border Canada.

Gates is former chairman and CEO of Rent-A-Center.
