Karel adds Philadelphia furniture, accessories show

New expo set for May 17-18

Gary Evans -- Furniture Today, December 1, 2008

AVENTURA, Fla. — Karel Exposition Management has added Philadelphia to its list of regional furniture and accessory shows, the company said.

The new Philadelphia Furniture and Accessory Market is slated to be held at the new Greater Philadelphia Expo Center at Oaks on Sunday, May 17 and Monday, May 18.

"We are expecting a sellout and the buyer attendance should be similar to our Edison, N.J. markets with heavy attendance," said Larry Karel, the company's president.

"The reaction to this new show has been fantastic," he said.

Karel said the show will feature hundreds of spaces of merchandise and is expected to attract attendees from Delaware, Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D.C., southern New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Among exhibitors committed to the show is Ashley Furniture, he said.

The new Philadelphia show is jointly sponsored by the Tri-State Home Furnishings Assn. and the Mid-Atlantic Home Furnishings Assn. "These organizations are the backbone of the region and we are thrilled to have their support," said Karel.

Karel Exposition Management has been producing trade shows since 1952.
