SOMERVILLE, N.J. — Andrew Limone, design director at Lloyd's Furniture here, has been named a fellow of the Interior Design Society.
Limone, a past president of the IDS, is only the ninth person named a fellow by the designer trade association in 30 years. He was chosen by the IDS Fellowship Committee, made up of current IDS fellows active in the industry.
In announcing the honor, the IDS said a candidate “must be active in their community and display an unselfish, inspirational and deep devotion to all people and projects that they touched.”
June Shea, an IDS national board member who nominated Limone, said he has served the society for years.
He founded a New Jersey chapter of IDS in 1975 and has remained active in the industry and in charitable work, including raising more than $1 million in donations for the New Jersey Assn. for Retarded Citizens.
At Lloyd's Furniture, he has had a number of high-profile clients.
“As a result of Andy's endeavors … Lloyd's is already considered one of the finest interior design showrooms in New Jersey,” said Lloyd's President Jeffrey Silverman.
