BASSETT, Va. — Keith Sanders has retired as senior vice president of operations and logistics at Bassett Furniture Inds.
Sanders, who joined the company in 1998, was responsible for manufacturing, global and domestic sourcing, quality control, customer service and logistics.
Most recently, he implemented warehousing and logistics strategies designed to improve domestic delivery times and reduce transportation costs.
“Under Keith's leadership, cellular manufacturing was introduced at the upholstery division, resulting in significant improvements to quality, reduced lead times and improved profitability,” said Rob Spilman, president and CEO. “We are grateful for his commitment to improving our operations and wish him the very best in his retirement.”
Before joining Bassett, Sanders spent more than 20 years at Ethan Allen as vice president of manufacturing.
