ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — American Furniture Warehouse celebrated the opening of its new AFW Designer Store in Vail Valley, Colo., with a benefit for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program.
The 4,000-square-foot store opened for business in September, but did not have an official grand opening until Dec. 18.
During the event, American Furniture Warehouse President and CEO Jake Jabs presented a $5,000 check to the Toys for Tots program on behalf of Ashley Furniture. Visitors to the store also were invited to donate toys.
In 2008, American Furniture Warehouse was a corporate sponsor of Toys for Tots, collecting toys at each of its stores and providing warehouse space for them. The company collected more than 60,000 toys for the drive, exceeding the goal of 25,000.
