ST. LOUIS — Maureen A. McGuire, a former Sears Holdings and IBM executive, has joined Furniture Brands International's board of directors, the company announced Monday.
McGuire was chief marketing officer for Sears Holdings, parent of retailers Sears and Kmart, for three years before resigning in August to pursue other interests. Before joining Sears, she held senior marketing and strategy positions in a 30-year career at IBM.
She will serve on the FBI board's Governance and Nominating Committee.
Ralph Scozzafava, Furniture Brands' chairman and CEO, said McGuire “brings world-class marketing expertise and broadens the skill set of the board. Her insights will be especially useful as we transform Furniture Brands to a consumer products company that leverages the power of our brands.”
The manufacturer and importer's brands include Broyhill, Lane, Thomasville, Drexel Heritage, Henredon, Pearson, Hickory Chair, Laneventure and Maitland-Smith.
