By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, January 26, 2009
MISSISSAUGA, Ontario β The Canadian Home Furnishings Alliance has named Joe Carroll, longtime publisher of Furniture/Today, as its first-ever honorary member.
CHFA chairman Laine Reynolds presented Carroll with the honor at the Canadian Home Furnishings Awards dinner during this month's Toronto market.
Honorary memberships can be bestowed on individuals who make considerable contributions to the association and the Canadian furniture industry but are not necessarily eligible for the Lifetime Achievement Award or the Retailer of the Year Award.
Carroll has been publisher of Furniture/Today for almost 30 years and has been active in a number of industry initiatives, winning numerous other honors. He has served as master of ceremonies for the Canadian Home Furnishings Awards Gala for the past decade.
βThe CHFA board of directors can think of no individual who has consistently made such lasting contributions to the furniture industry,β said Reynolds.
