CHERRYVILLE, N.C. — Upholstery merchandising veteran Mike Delgatti has joined Bradington-Young, the upscale leather upholstery and recliner division of Hooker Furniture, as executive vice president of merchandising.
Delgatti most recently was executive vice president of sales and marketing at Southern Furniture. Earlier, he was president of Clayton Marcus and executive vice president of merchandising for occasional and upholstery product lines at Broyhill.
At Bradington-Young, he reports to Alan Cole, president and CEO of Hooker's Upholstery Division, which also includes chair maker Sam Moore.
“Mike brings great merchandising expertise to Bradington-Young, and completes our management reorganization,” said Cole.
“He will help build on our strong core assortment of traditional leather upholstery as we broaden our offerings to include more casual and transitional designs.”
Delgatti will direct the development of both Bradington-Young domestically produced products and its Seven Seas Seating import line.
Delgatti will team with Craig Young, executive vice president of sales and marketing, in developing growth strategies and directions for Bradington-Young.
Scott Young, Craig's brother, resigned in December as senior vice president of merchandising and product development.
