TBG members elected the officers prior to the group's first pre-Tupelo Buy Fair here. The group's space in Building 5 was packed with special buys, according the Bethel Poston, TBG marketing director.
Members also shopped at market later as a group, visiting key supplier showrooms, and several said it was the best Tupelo market they had attended, according to Poston.
Gary Edwards, the group's executive director, said TBG's attendance was up from the previous markets and that interest in joining the group was "very encouraging."
TBG retailers operate 70 stores in Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, Illinois, Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama and Missouri. The group's next membership meeting is scheduled for March 18 in Gatlinburg, Tenn.
