Magi Seal, Bay Street Mfg. to share resources
Expect to offer greater value to furniture retailers
Larry Thomas -- Furniture Today, January 28, 2009
TORONTO — Magi Seal, a provider of customer service programs and fabric protection products for furniture retailers, has formed a joint venture with Bay Street Mfg., which makes mattress and pillow protectors, bed covers and pillows.
The deal gives Magi Seal a primary product source for mattress accessories, while Bay Street gets access to Magi Seal's dealer base and its network of sales representatives.
"Using our collective resources, we can reduce product and marketing costs, grow our combined market share and deliver greater value for bedding retailers," said Chris Zimmerman, Bay Street president.
Brad Geddes, president of Magi Seal, said his company will especially benefit from Bay Street's HealthGuard line of mattress protection products that ward off odors and help create a healthy sleep environment.
"During these challenging economic times, it's especially important to help dealers reduce costs and maintain margins," Geddes said. "Our service plans absolutely enhance the dealer's bottom line."
