• Celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Bob Timberlake home furnishings license by introducing a braid-and-loop combination that is emblematic of Timberlake's homespun vision. The Timberlake Somewhere in Time collection consists of six styles braided of 95% wool, 5% miscellaneous fabric, $438 for 5'6" round. New Timberlake hand-woven rugs from India include stripes and plaids in bright and earthy colorways. Winesome Check is hand loomed of 100% wool and backed with canvas, $288 for 5' by 8'.

• Mountain Plaid from Dick Idol is hand loomed in India of 60% cotton and 40% wool and retails for $313 in 5' by 8'.

• Taos is a Dick Idol design hand tufted in India of 100% wool, $498 in 5' by 8'.

• Savoir Faire is a shaggy retro look in multi-colored shades. The nylon rug is $325 in 5' by 7'.

• Canadian rug maker is fairly new to the U.S. market, but the company continues to strengthen its position at mid-level price points.

• The Festival collection utilizes new 10-frame wilton looms to achieve finely detailed patterns in updated traditional designs. Of heat set polypropylene, $249.

• The Ambiente collection features contemporary designs and value-oriented pricing. Woven of heat-set olefin, $149.

Central Oriental launches the first domestically made products from the company's newly acquired wilton looms in Maine. The company also zeroes in on the mid-level price points in imported machine-made products. Central also updates its hand-made collections.

• The Premier collection is a group of traditional styles manufactured in 1.5-million point construction for extra fine pattern definition, $399.

CLAIRE MURRAY 9E4

Claire Murray brings her unique interpretation and color palette to two of the season's hot home fashions looks: coastal and lodge. The coastal Breeze collection depicts Nantucket images of lighthouses, sailing vessels and ocean waves. The Bears design is inspired by the wildlife of mountain streams and forests. The wool hooked rugs are made in China, $600 in 5' by 8'. Claire Murray Gift Mart showroom in Atlanta remains open for both the gift show and rug market.

COURISTAN 6D1

Couristan is revamping its hand knotted collections, emphasizing higher-end products. In the popular price points, the importer is introducing new Bulgarian-made rugs and hand-loomed products from India.

• The Royal Imperial collection is hand knotted of worsted New Zealand wool, then finished with luster-wash treatment, $2,226.

• The Kingston collection takes a textural approach to design. Power-loomed in Bulgaria using multi-point weaving technique. Of 100% virgin wool, $319 in 5'7" by 8'.

• The Pebbles collection is a heavyweight textured rug hand loomed in India of 100% blended natural wool, $755 in approximate 8' by 10'.

• Emphasizing high-quality, hand-tufted constructions, Couristan introduces Calcutta in intricate Persian designs. Made in India of worsted New Zealand wool and double-washed for a soft antique finish, $1,478 in 5'6" by 8'6".

Introducing the Monterey collection, a group of custom fabricated rugs priced in the heart of the middle market. The designs are fabricated from 100% nylon, shag carpet. Area rug styles include simple bordered shapes, as well as geometrics and contemporary abstracts. All can be fabricated in any combination of 15 colors. In shag or shag and cut pile combination. Prices range from $499 for a basic rectangle to $1,399 for the most intricate design.

Newly formed Delos opens its first Atlanta showroom, showing eight collections from van den Brink & Campman, a 104-year-old Belgian rug maker. Rugs will be warehoused in the United States and will retail from $399 to $1,799. Constructions include Nepalese hand-knotted, hand-tufted rugs and Axminster machine-made designs. Other collections available by special order.

EBISONS HAROUNIAN 5F5

Developing new ideas for finely made hand-knotted rugs at the mid to upper price range.

• Varamin is a new collection inspired by antique Persian designs of the 18th century. Hand knotted in China in a soft color palette, $1,399.

• Reflections is a large group of antique adaptations of classic Agra, Mahal and Sultanabad designs, $1,599.

• Golden Horizon is a group of Persian classics made in China. The rugs are stocked for re-orderability, $999.

• The Tatar collection of Oushak designs is hand knotted in China using the traditional Oushak weaving techniques, $700.

• Kathmandu features Savonnerie, transitional and wildlife motifs, $1,099.

• Ebisons will continue to import Peshawar rugs made by Afghan refugees in Pakistan. The rugs are replicas of antique Zeigler Mahal and Sultanabad designs. Prices begin at $1,299.

• Star of Africa, a stylized geometric inspired by African tribal designs, is a printed jute rug made in India, at approximately $150.

HRI is becoming more deeply involved with popular-priced imported rugs aimed at mass market distribution channels. New lines are available in container quantities.

• The Royal Doulton collection will make its debut in Atlanta. The rugs are based on classic Royal Doulton designs and will be available in several constructions, including tufted, needlepoint and microhooks. Prices for hooked and tufted rugs are in the $600 to $700 range in 5' by 8'.

• Chenille collection features solid and stripe designs. The hand-loomed cotton chenille rugs are available in both accent and area rug sizes.

• In a retro mood, the Shag Rug is a hand-knotted wool with a flexible cotton backing. In neutral and pastel colors.

HELLENIC 6G8

In its first "name-brand" approach to design, Hellenic moves in two distinct contemporary directions.

• The Kate Ward Thacker collection is hand tufted in India of fine wool. Patterns are based on Thacker's distinctive art work, which she describes as "paper quilts." Dense, 5/8-inch pile height with hand carving, $499 in 5' by 8'.

• Phillip Jaeger's Essential Nature collection is a group of organic designs inspired by the strongly gestural art of Japanese calligraphic masters. Originally designed as a series of abstract collages using organic materials and exotic papers, the work utilizes Jaeger's layered color fusion technique for a unique textural effect. The collection is hand knotted with a Nepalese weave. Of worsted wool, $799 in 5'6" by 8'.

HOMEFIRES/CRESC 2nd Floor Temps

Best known for whimsical hooked accent and shaped rugs, the company is branching out into area rugs, and it will be showing at both the Atlanta gift show and in temporary space at the Atlanta rug market.

• The wool rugs are hand hooked in China. New shapes and accent rugs retail at $60 in 2' by 3' while the area rugs retail for $320 in 5' by 8'.

JAIPUR 3C15

Known for its high-end hand-knotted rugs. With the Atlantis collection, the company retains its quality craftsmanship while moving into the mid-level price range. The 10 designs are updated traditional patterns in fashion colors, $1,299 in 6' by 9'.

Introducing round and square shapes to its hand-knotted Jaipura, Lateef, Le Palais, Nomad and Serafina collections. Made in India using wools of New Zealand, at $1,300 in 8' round or square.

KARASTAN 3A1

Introducing a Custom Border Program that combines the strength of its woven wool broadloom manufacturing with the ability to create custom-size area rugs. The rugs are available with serged borders or with a choice of 18 border patterns including leather, cotton twill and jute. Depending on the choice of broadloom and border, the customized rugs retail from $600 to $1,500 in 6' by 9'. The program is available with a merchandising unit that takes less than two square feet of floor space. The unit houses a poster, samples of corner finishing options and a swatch-book of available borders.

• Karastan also is adding to its Original Karastan, Antique Legends, Palazzo and Persian Renaissance collections.

The company is exploring the imaginative use of new materials and offbeat designs.

• The Lotus collection incorporates several forms of bamboo in a series of casual textures that emulate the looks of match sticks, woven squares, ric-rac trim and wood paneling. Machine made in China and hand finished with cotton border and felt back, $199.

• Made of faux silk viscose for a soft, flexible hand, the Princeton series contains 30 patterns in traditional Oriental and European designs. Available in both jewel tone and antique colorations, $249.

LOUIS DE POORTERE 6F11

• Aimed at the growing market for casually sophisticated decorating, Louis de Poortere introduces The Navajo collection, a group of 14 flatweave rugs in tribal designs. Of New Zealand wool, $199.

• Broadloom carpeting and runners now coordinate with LDP's Moussoul and Vincenzo rug collections. Also adding designs to the Shalamar rug line.

MASLAND 3F1

Masland's Translations collection combines jacquard fabric borders surrounding a center field of carpet. Suggested prices begin at $999. Consumers also may supply their own fabrics for an expanded range of customized options.

MOHAWK HOME 6A2

Continues to focus on lifestyle decorating solutions for rugs and other home textiles products, and it continues to strengthen its Goodwin Weavers line for home furnishings stores while continuing its efforts at the mass-market level in Mohawk Home collections.

• Chris Madden for Goodwin Weavers is a diverse range of looks based upon Madden's goal to provide custom looks at affordable prices. Fourteen designs in both traditional and contemporary styles, $200 to $300 in 5' by 8'. Coordinating throws and pillows are available

• The Beau Soleil collection is inspired by the popular French Country styling tend. The 20 designs range from flower layouts to clean geometrics. The woven rugs are made of olefin, $150 in 5' by 8'.

MOMENI 5B4

Showing several new collections of re-orderable programmed rugs, and adding new designs to its best-selling collections. The rugs will be shown in a newly expanded AmericasMart showroom.

• Oslo is inspired by Scandinavian contemporary designs in vibrant colors including blues and reds. Hand knotted, it retails at $899 in 5'6" by 8'6".

• Hampton is a linear, understated group of high-low tufted designs in wool, $599 in 5'3" by 8'.

• The Diamond collection of traditionally designed rugs is hand tufted in India in updated colorways, $499 in 5' by 8'.

• One-of-a-kind rugs remain important for Momeni, which will feature fresh selections of Peshawar rugs from Pakistan, tribal and village rugs from Iran and the company's Green Mountain gabbeh rugs from Iran.

Continues to make inroads into the realm of high-design, hand-crafted rugs through its Corinthian division. Also is stepping up the quality and looks of its machine-made products.

• The Corinthian collection expands into hand-knotted rugs. The hand-carved rugs are made of New Zealand wool and use the distinctive Tibetan weave. The designs are color coordinated for easy decorating. Made in India, $1,599.

• The Isparta collection is a group of traditional Persian designs in colors geared to contemporary furniture trends. The group features an extensive size range that includes roll runners, oversized area rugs, rectangles, rounds and ovals. Wilton woven in Turkey of 100% New Zealand wool with hand-knotted cotton fringe, $599.

Nejad has been known for its traditional designs in fine hand-knotted rugs but has recently begun to expand into popular-priced products.

• The Neo-Nepal collection is a group of contemporary designs featuring soft, muted tones. The collection includes wool and silk pile rugs and 100% wool pile rugs, $530.

• The Signature Tufted collection interprets four of Nejad's best-selling hand-knotted classic Persian designs in hand-tufted construction. Both groups use the same quality New Zealand wool, $499.

• The Kiddy Carpet collection includes educational rug designs of the U.S. map and alphabet blocks, plus playful designs including Teddy bears, unicorns and butterflies. Machine tufted of modacrylic, $199 in 5' by 7'.

• Beauvais is a group of classic 18th century French designs. The hand-crafted construction features wool pile highlighted with faux silk, $799.

• The Belmore Gardens collection features large-scale florals and organic forms, hand crafted of wool, $449.

• The India House collection is a group of promotional hand- tufted designs in a wide range of updated classics and casual contemporary styles, $269 in 6' by 9'.

• The Ashton Court collection is a power-loomed collection featuring European-inspired decorative motifs in detailed ornamental designs. Of 100% wool, $549.

ORIENTAL WEAVERS USA 3C12

Introducing three area rug collections and also getting into the accent rug business with a series of retro look designs.

• The Saggara collection is named for the oldest and best-known pyramid in Egypt. The patterns are primarily traditional and feature a bank of eight updated colors. Constructed of high-density heat-set olefin pile, $199.

• The Summit collection features a palette of earthy naturals and is woven with a specially developed, heavy heat-set yarn system, $129.

• The Plateau collection is a value-driven group of drop stitch designs made of BCF yarns. In transitional and traditional carved designs, $99.

• Treasured Heirlooms is based on traditional Oriental rug patterns in soft colorations. The plush pile collection is woven on 10-color looms of two-ply heat-set polypropylene, $199.

• Geared towards the young and the young at heart, OWA's new accent rugs have a retro look. The color palette features vibrant oranges, fuchsias, blues, purples and greens with crisp white. Woven with a 10-color, two-ply, heat-set yarn, the rugs are available only in 3' by 5', $39.

THE RUG MARKET 5A8, 1100

Introducing hooked accent rugs and coordinated products to both juvenile and adult product lines.

• Baby Blocks design combines stripes with familiar infant themes such as diaper pins, Teddy bears and duckies. Flower Dance combines tiny flowers and polka dots in either a cotton candy or bright palette. Both are cotton petitpoint hooked rugs at $100 in 3' by 5'.

• In a playful mood, Rodeo Rider features a ride 'em cowboy theme hand hooked in 100% wool, $100 in 3' by 5'.

• The Cheri Blum collection features Antique Rose, an old fashioned rose-and-leaf design. Hand stenciled on jute, it has the look of hand-painted crackled linen, $299 for 5' by 8'.

Newcomer Sabry Rug & Textiles is exhibiting for the second time during the Atlanta rug market. Sabry specializes in container load quantities to major floor covering and furniture stores.

• The Fayza collection is made of 100% space-dyed wool, cross woven to achieve greater pattern depth and color variations. In modern, Oriental, contemporary, Aubusson and border designs, $299 in 5' by 8'.

• Building on the initial success of its Legend collection, Sabry introduces Legend Collection 2. The designs are based on French Aubusson styling, Persian classics and contemporary designs with a painterly free-hand look. The new polypropylene yarn system has a wool-like low luster and soft hand, $299 in 5' by 8'.

SHAW 6B3

• Fereghan is a hybrid design combining French and Persian styling traditions. Wilton woven of nylon as part of Shaw's Regal Heritage collection of Nourison licensed rugs.

• Warrenton is inspired by classic toile figurative patterns. It features an antique floral pattern with a subtle floral border. Woven of 100% nylon.

• Wentworth is reminiscent of an antique garden in bloom with an overall floral pattern offset by a simple but elegant multi-striped border. Part of the Winterthur collection. Woven of nylon.

• Philadelphia presents a contemporary take on Early American/Pennsylvania Dutch imagery. Woven of nylon.

• Linear Dusk is a vibrant contemporary geometric printed on a base of loop-pile nylon with a low-luster finish.

SPHINX BY ORIENTAL WEAVERS 3A2, 3C11

Sphinx has added a new showroom for its Oasis hand-made division directly across from the main Oriental Weavers showroom. Introducing six hand-made collections and adding designs to both machine-made and handmade collections.

• The Artifacts collection features bold yet intricate patterns. Hand tufted in India using a dense pile of blended wool, $599 for 5'6" by 8'6".

• The Fresco collection's cut-and-loop construction adds textural interest. Hand tufted of New Zealand wool, designs range from classic to contemporary. Made in India, $659 in 5'6" by 8'6".

• The Hacienda collection is hand knotted in India using a Nepalese construction. It features designs of the American Southwest, $999 in 5'6" by 8'6".

• The Options collection is an eclectic group of casual designs hand tufted in China of 100% wool. Each piece is hand carved, hand serged and hand finished, at $359 in 5'6" by 8'6".

• Season collection is hand tufted in China of wool in floral designs with subtle shading and intricate carving, $499 in 5'6" by 8'6".

• The Shangri-la collection is a thick wool hand-knotted construction made in India in an eclectic group of casual designs, at $799 in 5'6" by 8'6".

Adding designs to Sphinx's hand-tufted Details collection featuring ornamental embellishments such as embroidery, appliques and leather strips. Additions also being made to several Sphinx machine-made collections including Ariana, Generations, Icon and Khyber Pass.

Emphasizing lively contemporary styling. Also taking a fresh look at traditional braided rugs.

• Inspired by the beauty of the cosmos, the Cosmo collection is hand tufted in India. The blend of 50% cotton-50% wool creates a soft look and feel, $499 in 5' by 8'.

• Pioneer is a group of six braid designs hand made in China of 100% wool, at $199 in 5' by 8'.

• Fireside is a new collection of braided rugs. The six designs include unique twists on this Early American crafting technique, such as square rugs and panel patterns. $199 in 5' by 8'.

Trans Ocean also adding designs to its Saraha and Inca series.

UNITED WEAVERS 4C9

Introducing the Minster collection, the first rug group to be produced under UW's licensing agreement with Woodward Grosvenor of Great Britain. The archives contain approximately 20,000 designs from the 200-year-old British carpet and rug manufacturer. The initial introduction includes 20 designs. Each pattern will include the historical provenance of the design. The million-plus point soft-hand polypropylene construction has 12 millimeter pile height, $300. During the introductory gala at the Atlanta rug market, each person viewing the collection will have the opportunity to win a trip for two to England.

• Adding Harvest Panes, a contemporary design, to the Broadway collection of hand-tufted wool rugs. The group is geared to the affordably priced lifestyle market, at $200 in 5' by 8'.
