Serta Vancouver is honored in Canada

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, June 9, 2002

With a sales increase of 15%, Serta Vancouver has won Serta's Canadian Marketing Excellence Award for 2001. The award honors the bedding maker's top-performing Canadian plant in sales and marketing.

"Vancouver won in a very fierce competition among our four Canadian plants," said Bob Malin, vice president of marketing. "Serta's Canadian facilities have each experienced double-digit sales increases in 2001, even though overall bedding sales in Canada have been flat."

Last year's winner, Serta Winnipeg, finished a close second with a sales increase of more than 14%. Toronto and Montreal plants also turned in strong performances for the year. The award is based on total bedding sales, Perfect Sleeper average unit selling price and sales index performance.

"We are very proud of our outstanding sales team," said Jeff McKnight, president of Serta Vancouver. "Every member of the team has made a major contribution to our success under the leadership of Denis Jones, our vice president and general manager."
