Sutton to launch magazine in October

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Furniture designer Charles Sutton has set an October launch for his publication designed to assist consumers in making informed furniture purchasing decisions.
The first, 130-page issue of Furniture Review: A Consumer Guide to Buying Furniture will be distributed free to 250,000 consumers.
Sutton is seeking furniture buyers from retail stores and other industry insiders as contributing editors. He said Furniture Review will feature only furniture currently available at retail, and editorial will pair furniture quality ratings with an enthusiastic and authoritative personality, like specialty publications like Wine Spectator and Car and Driver.
"By broadcasting what is good and right about our industry and defining what is real and true in the furniture world, we will be encouraging people to buy furniture," he said.
A Web site also will debut in October, and Sutton expects that articles from Furniture Review will evolve into syndicated columns for print and television.
"Clearly, we intend Furniture Review to support the efforts of furniture manufacturers and retailers and to offer concentrated exposure to targeted consumers at significantly lower rates than shelter magazines or television networks," he said.
