Richardson president of Hall of Fame

HIGH POINT — Joe Richardson III, chief executive officer of Richardson Inds., has been elected president of the American Furniture Hall of Fame for 2002-03.
Other new officers are: first vice president, Joe Carroll, Furniture/Today; second vice president, Clarence Smith, Havertys; secretary/treasurer, Tom Powell, Directional and Thomas Roderick Co.; and assistant secretary/treasurer, Roy Briggs, consultant.
Elected to the board were Russell Bienenstock, Furniture World; J. Donald Coleman, Hickory Springs Mfg.; Steve Kincaid, Kincaid Furniture; and Larry Parnell, Oakwood Interiors.
Other directors include Bruce Birnbach, The Rowe Cos.; Jerome Bolick, Southern Furniture of Conover; Rob Culp, Culp Inc.; Kurt Darrow Sr., La-Z-Boy; Donald Dreher, DMI; Rodney England, England; Neil Goldberg, Raymour & Flanigan; Eric Hinshaw, Kingsdown; Leroy Lail, Hickory Furniture Mart; Irwin Lowenstein, Powell Co.; Elkin McCallum, Joan Fabrics; and Paul B. Toms Jr., Hooker.
The American Furniture Hall of Fame is an all-industry effort to honor individuals whose outstanding achievements have contributed to the industry's growth and development, and to research, collect and preserve the industry's cultural, economic and artistic history.
