Tyndall Creek taps Witmer as national sales manager

WILMINGTON, N.C. — Rocking chair source Tyndall Creek Furniture has named David Witmer, a former Lane sales executive, as national sales manager.
The company also is introducing several products at the April market, including two upholstered-seat rockers and two solid-seat rockers for indoor use. Also new is Outdoor Elements, a collection of Brazilian Cherry porch rockers that can be used outdoors.
Witmer had been with Lane Furniture since 1998, most recently as regional sales manager in northern California. At Lane, he was a company leader in territory growth in 2000 and 2001. At Tyndall Creek, he fills a post that had been open for 18 months.
He is in charge of all aspects of sales, including the development and management of a national sales force, and acts as liaison with major accounts. He reports to Tyndall Creek President Bob Bethel.
"This position is one of the most essential in our company, and the hiring process was exhaustive," said Bethel. "We are particularly pleased with our association with Dave, and look forward to drawing on his experience in full-line furniture, especially as we grow our solid and upholstered-seat rocker business."
He said Tyndall Creek's High Point introductions "are a clear step toward fulfilling our corporate objective to be the first and only complete source of rockers in the United States." The company also sells benches and bar stools.
"I am particularly looking forward to the prospect of building our full-line customer base, as well as expanding our presence in the casual market," said Witmer.
Tyndall Creek is returning to its showroom at Showplace 3350 for the April market and has added a second showroom in Plaza Suites 2-405.
Its new solid-seat rockers, the Pembroke and the Pearson, will target $199 and $299 retail price points. The upholstered Ashton and Tyndall Creek will target $299 and $349.
