Designer program proves popular

BOSTON — The Boston Design Center said sales in its Designer on Call program increased 29% in 2001 from the previous year.
Designer on Call is a complimentary consultation program where interior designers help area homeowners with their design questions. Revenue is generated from those calls which lead to the sale of furniture and accessories.
"The success of Designer on Call is evidence that there is a real demand for quality home furnishings coupled with professional advice," said Duncan Gilkey, Boston Design Center president. "When people are spending more time in their homes, quality of life is more important than ever."
