Platt Collections doubles market space

HIGH POINT — HIGH POINT — Furniture and accessories manufacturer The Platt Collections has moved its market showroom in the 200 North Hamilton St. complex.
Platt's new home in the South Court, space 218, is double the size of its former showroom.
President Larry Platt said the new space has more than 15,000 square feet.
With the added space, Platt is introducing two bedroom and dining room groups and 60 occasional pieces, as well as 160 accessories displayed in a 2,500-square-foot dedicated accessory gallery.
The company said the new collections reflect "a modern and sophisticated interpretation of architectural and traditional designs, characterized by the harmonious blend of distinctive materials and dramatic finishes."
Platt said the company has designed the space the way a top retailer might, to give buyers ideas for their stores.
Platt's move allowed Hekman and Woodmark Upholstery, two Howard Miller companies, to add to their spaces at 200 North Hamilton, where together they now take up about 33,000 square feet.
Hamilton Properties said other changes also have taken place at its showrooms. Temple Inc., formerly in Furniture Plaza, has taken over South Court 210. Lotus Arts and Windermere Lamps together have expanded their space from 2,300 square feet to 5,000 square feet at South Court 214.
Brownstreet Furniture returns to High Point in South Court 212, while Elizabeth Hower is in North Court 207, and New Growth Designs is in North Court 303.
Nearby, Old Biscayne has relocated and expanded to 4,000 square feet at 330 Hamilton St., third floor.
