Paris will host 20th century design fair
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, April 14, 2002
PARIS — Furniture and objects that defined the past 100 years will take the stage in June at a new show here called Le Salon XXe Siecle, or the 20th century design fair.
Some 40 galleries, booksellers and antique dealers from Europe and the United States will show their goods at Le Carrousel du Louvre. In addition, a concurrent exhibition will be dedicated to 25 masters of international design from 25 countries, selected by the ambassadors to Paris from each nation.
Rik Gadella, who has built Paris Photo into a premier event in photography in the past five years, is the design fair's director. Amelie Darras-Le Henry, who has been active in contemporary art and design for 15 years, is curator.
The fair is set for Thursday through Sunday, June 6-9, with professional pre-opening and invitation-only events on Wednesday, June 5. Information is available from S&G/Rik Gadella, 1 boulevard Saint-Martin 75003 Paris, France. The phone number is +33 1 42 77 58 94.
