HIGH POINT — Upholstery producer William Alan has signed an exclusive licensing agreement to manufacturer furniture for Double D Ranch, a high-end clothing and home furnishings brand inspired by the historic American West.
The line is being shown at the April market in both the William Alan showroom at 404 North Hamilton St. and the Double D space in Suites at Market Square.
Double D has marketed a furniture line for 10 years using various U.S. sources, including William Alan."
Our production now will be consolidated in one place," said Kale Bowen, marketing coordinator for Double D Ranch.
Cheryl McMullen, Double D's chief designer, will continue to create the furniture, which includes the Axis Hide chair, the quilted leather San Antonio Collection and the Mrs. Winchester chair.
The Double D Ranch Home Collection also includes accent pillows and bedding textiles, created in 1996 as a spinoff of the Double D Ranchwear clothing line. Much of its women's-only apparel, including Navajo-styled jackets, prairie skirts and denim pieces, is embellished with hand beading, embroidery and metal studs.
The soft goods are produced and distributed through the family-owned Yoakum, Texas-based Double D operation.
"The home collection will continue to feature bedding ensembles and pillows that merchandise with our furniture designs," said Double D Ranch Chief Executive Officer Audrey Franz. "We'll work hand-in-hand with William Alan throughout the manufacturing process to ensure efficient production that is true to our design vision."
In addition to sisters McMullen and Franz, the company includes third sister Hedy Carter, who oversees production, and their mother, Margie McMullen.
