Oscar presenters will sit pretty

MONROE, Mich. — Presenters at the Academy Awards typically receive a gift basket stuffed with such luxuries as Armani tuxedos and Versace wallets, but those involved with next week's movie awards gala will get a gift that's too big to fit in a basket: a La-Z-Boy recliner.

The recliner will be inside the basket, however — in the form of a gift certificate that allows the presenter to select one from the furniture maker's contemporary "New Look of Comfort" collection.

"We're delighted to be included in this year's elite lineup of specialty gifts," said La-Z-Boy President Kurt Darrow. "We're sure the celebrities receiving these chairs will be satisfied with our new look."

This year's Oscars will be presented March 24.
