Z-Tex parent acquires King Finishing

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, March 17, 2002

Westex Holding, parent of fabric supplier Z-Tex, has acquired the assets of King Finishing, a fabric dyeing division of now-defunct Spartan International, in Dover, Ga.

John Zita, president of Z-Tex, said that King, renamed King America Finishing, will operate under the Westex corporate umbrella.

The 500,000-square-foot facility includes two preparation and mercerization ranges, two continuous thermosol dye ranges, four finishing lines, and two printing lines. The printing capability is new for Z-Tex and the continuous dye capability means the company now can dye very large quantities with greater color consistency.

"This additional capacity, along with King's multitude of finishing capabilities, ensures that Westex/Z-Tex will be well-positioned to have a continuing supply of fabrics for our customers," Zita said.
