Top retailers, manufacturers honored

Chicago — The Specialty Sleep Assn. has honored outstanding retailers and manufacturers with its annual awards.
The awards, presented at the 2002 Futon and Specialty Sleep Expo here, recognized the contributions that individuals and companies have made to the specialty sleep industry.
SSA members nominate and vote on the award winners.
The 2001 winners are:

Manufacturer of the Year: Bill Schermel of Halcyon Waterspring Inc.

Manufacturer's Representative of the Year: Phil Sherman of Boyd Specialty Sleep.

Retailer of the Year (1-5 stores): Robert Cournoyer, St. Paul Furniture and Waterbeds, St. Paul, Minn.

Retailer of the Year (6-10 stores): Norbert Moniz, A Royal Suite, Saugus, Calif.

Retailer of the Year (11-plus stores): Roanne and Tom Barron, Off-Track Bedding, Providence, R.I.
The SSA is a national, not-for-profit organization created to facilitate the growth and positive awareness of the specialty sleep category. It is comprised of more than 100 retailers and manufacturers, ranging from small, family-owned businesses to large corporations.
