Altra's sister company, Carina, will be showing a new concept in RTA furniture called the Classic Series. The Classic Series is a traditionally styled product line that uses case goods-quality wood details to create a high-value appearance. Priced from $99 to $199.

Introducing a computer desk and student computer desk to coordinate with other bedroom case pieces. Both desks have hutches and slide-out keyboard shelf. Student desk — 42 inches wide, 20 inches deep and 53 inches high — features 18-disk CD rack. Adult desk — 53 inches wide, 23 inches deep and 58 inches high — includes drawers and extra storage features. Available in Driftwood finish.

• Adding an L-shaped desk/hutch to the Euro home office collection. Unit measures 64 inches high, 56 inches wide and 28 inches deep. Features include a shaped front, beech finish and brushed chrome hardware. Priced at $229 retail.

• The Saranac collection features a desk/hutch in a Flush Beech finish with Graphite Gray accents. Features include a side tier equipped with a file drawer, a utility drawer and dedicated vertical storage. Unit measures 54 inches high, 64 inches wide and 29 inches deep. Priced at $249 retail.

• The Visions collection includes a multi-level desk. The left side features a concealed CPU compartment; the right side, a file drawer and utility drawer. Open surfaces above each side storage area accommodate a printer, scanner or fax machine. The piece measures 34 inches high, 70 inches wide and 29 inches deep. Priced at $199 retail.

Doxey has developed a new assembly method for RTA case goods, significantly reducing assembly time. Introducing two new office groups, available in either veneer or laminate. In home office, Heritage Oak and Classic Cherry are new with three pieces retailing for $699.

• Adding a second home office collection to the Faith Popcorn line called Cottage Cocoon in cottage styling. The new collection is smaller in scale, more casual and approximately 20% lower in price. Features include turned legs, paneled backs and an "X" motif for a country cottage feel, as well as contemporary, architectural elements. Pieces include a computer credenza and hutch with double pullout keyboard/work surface, bookcases, peninsula desk, double pedestal desk with bookcase back and a glass-top desk with metal base. Two finishes are available — creamy white Vanilla and a black finish with light distressing called Sable.

• Adding to its Mission line, with a desk, hutch and return configuration, as well as a six-piece corner group — all pieces available in multiple finish options. Priced from $1,499 to $1,599 retail.

• Also adding a traditional 78-inch angled desk and hutch with complete computer storage priced at $999 to $1,099. File cabinet accommodates legal and letter-size files. No particleboard is used in the construction of these pieces.

Chinese source will be introducing a variety of home office chairs, including models with "advanced," patented mechanisms in high-back and mid-back sizes.

Introducing a line of chairs upholstered in Microfibres fabrics, featuring pneumatic height adjustment and locking tilt mechanism. Other new chairs include:

• The EL4521, upholstered in leather and nylon mesh with brushed metal accents. Features a 2:1 synchro-tilt mechanism that reclines the chair back 2 degrees for every 1 degree of tilt applied to the seat.

• The Oak 930, upholstered in chenille with oak-finished accents, pneumatic height control and locking tilt mechanism

• Also extending the Avenue collection with a 74-inch desk with hutch and return, bookcase and file drawer in a Casual Cherry finish. Also constructed of solid alder with birch veneers.

O'Sullivan 220 ELM 120

• New O'Sullivan collections include Capistrano Hills, in Mission with a Landverry Oak finish; Handcrafted Home, featuring details such as corner medallions and a new Marguerite cherry finish; and Plantations, which features large scaling and an embossed pattern on doors, in a Landverry Oak finish.

• New to the Intelligent Designs line of light commercial office furniture is the Maestro modular office system. Features worktables, hutches and filing that can be configured for single, multiple or team work environments. Offers Armortop laminate desktops for durability, and 3-mm commercial edgebanding for dent resistance. Cable management and task lighting included. Priced from $99 to $299, with immediate availability.

• Adding several new pieces with the Digital Dock feature, which relocates the CPU from floor level to the desktop. They include corner workcenters in the McCormick Work Group and Living Dimensions collections of Intelligent Designs, priced at $399 retail; and new pieces in O'Sullivan's Xtreme Office collection of youth-focused furniture in wood and metal. Priced at $179 retail.
