Trevira bringing flame-resistant fiber back in U.S.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Trevira is relaunching in the United States its Trevira CS fiber for use in flame-resistant home furnishings fabrics.

The Frankfurt, Germany-based fiber producer will offer a wide range of polyester staple fibers and filament yarns targeted to the upper segment of the market, said Ulrich Girrbach, marketing director.

Trevira CS now is used mainly by European mills, but the company sees potential here as more U.S. mills move into flame-resistant fabrics. "Trevira CS has a defined, permanent fire performance which is not being compromised," Girrbach said.

In addition to its range of yarns, Trevira offers a comprehensive service package to assist mills in their marketing efforts.

The company will show the relaunched line for the first time in this country at the Hospitality Design Show in Las Vegas, May 2-4.
