HIGH POINT — HIGH POINT — The National Home Furnishings Assn. said its "Ask Me Anything" all-industry convention, set for March 9-11 in Orlando, Fla., will renew the trade group's focus on problem solving and networking.
Retail consultant Don Hutson will open the program at the Rosen Plaza Hotel with a presentation on leadership techniques in a team-building environment.
Industry analyst Jerry Epperson will moderate two networking sessions. In the past, the Epperson-led sessions have proved some of the convention's most illuminating and entertaining, NHFA said.
As one of three breakout sessions, Joe Carroll, publisher of Furniture/Today, will moderate a panel discussing the future of the industry with Epperson, Jim Gabbert, Ellen Gefen and Jeff Young.
Another session will feature a presentation by Rick Stark of Profitsystems software on what distinguishes high-profit stores. Consultant Samantha Kurtz will talk about how outstanding customer service can contribute to increased profits.
John Satagaj, the NHFA's legislative counsel, will provide an update on key issues in Washington, and Connie Post, a retail consultant specializing in design and brand development, will discuss capturing consumer attention in a fast-paced world.
The convention closes with dinner and entertainment. Tours and activities are available prior to the convention, and families are invited to attend and enjoy the attractions around Orlando.
