Vernon to head Burdines home

MIAMI — MIAMI — Veteran home furnishings merchandiser Dave Vernon has joined department store Burdines here as senior vice president and general merchandise manager of home.
He succeeds Nancy Katz, who resigned last year to join Bed Bath & Beyond.
Vernon most recently was with Fresno, Calif.-based Gottchalks, where he held the same post. Before that he was divisional merchandise manager of home textiles at The Broadway, which was acquired by Federated Department Stores, also the parent of Burdines.
