By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, February 24, 2002
SANTERAMO IN COLLE, Italy — Industrie Natuzzi has received ISO 14001 certification from London-based Bureau Veritas Quality International, signifying that the upholstery manufacturer operates an environmental management system in accordance with bureau guidelines.
The certification follows ISO 9001 quality management accreditation the bureau granted the company in 1995.
Natuzzi's procedures to safeguard the environment include toxic substance management, systems monitoring and environmental training.
"Our ISO 14001 certification evidences our commitment to protecting the environment," said Pasquale Natuzzi, chairman and chief executive officer. He said the certification marks not a conclusion to Natuzzi's environmental initiatives, but rather a milestone in its efforts to improve the quality of life in and around its own facilities, as well as in its consumers' homes.
