AVENTURA, Fla. — Karel Exposition Management, which organizes regional furniture and accessories markets around the country, has added one show to its 2002 schedule and expanded two existing shows.
The new show is set for Nov. 10-12 at the New Jersey Convention Center in Edison, N.J. The move gives the company three shows at the Edison site, in metro New York, this year. One was held earlier in February and another is scheduled for Aug. 4-6.
"Our new show is designed to serve thousands of East Coast buyers who need last-minute merchandise during the prime holiday shopping period," said Larry Karel, president of KEM. "This show also will provide an excellent opportunity for manufacturers, distributors and reps to increase their sales before year's end."
He said his company has secured additional exhibit space for two of its most popular shows, in Orlando, Fla. (Aug. 23-25) and Long Beach, Calif. (Nov. 24-26).
The Orlando show, already Karel's largest, will have some 1,500 exhibitor booth spaces available, 200 more than last year. Long Beach, which had about 500 booth spaces last year, will have 800 in 2002. "We've had a string of successful shows and a significant increase in attendance and exhibitor participation," said Karel.
KEM, which recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, targets retailers who live within a two- to three-hour drive of its show sites. Other Karel shows are in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (Feb. 16-18), Worcester, Mass. (March 24-26 and Sept. 22-24), and Las Vegas (May 18-20).
