By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, February 18, 2002
HIGH POINT — The guest speaker at this year's Furniture Fellowship Prayer Breakfast will be Dan Cathy, president of Chick-Fil-A, one of the largest family-owned, quick-service restaurant chains.
Chick-Fil-A was founded in Atlanta by Cathy's father, S. Truett Cathy, and he grew up in the business. He will speak on the balance of faith and business.
The breakfast will be from 7 to 8 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17, in the ballroom of the International Home Furnishings Center on the 11th floor of the Green Wing.
Reservations must be made by March 5 by contacting Randy Austin, Hickory White, P.O. Box 998, Hickory, N.C. 28603; fax (828) 322-1948.
The cost is $15, with half-tables available for $75. A general sponsorship may be purchased for $100 or more over the cost of tickets. Sponsors will receive recognition in the program, and part of the proceeds will endow a need-based Furniture Fellowship Scholarship at High Point University's School of Home Furnishings.
Also, a worship service will be held Sunday, April 21, from 7 to 7:45 a.m. in the High Point Theater, near the IHFC's Commerce Street entrance.
