BETHLEHEM, Pa. — BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Roger Price has joined Unclaimed Freight here as executive vice president of purchasing and merchandising, part of a move to bring the chain into an expansion mode.
He takes over many of the duties of Andy Eskow, former chief executive officer, who left the five-store promotional retailer last June. Price worked for wholesaler Home Line Inds. for the past 12 years, leaving in August as executive vice president.
Unclaimed Freight founder Joseph Colabella revived the former Top 100 company from near failure in the mid 1990s, then sold it in 1999 to Foundation Equity Investors and affiliated companies led by President Larry Manson.
Manson, who became CEO when Eskow left, said 2001 sales fell below the $33.4 million the company generated in 2000.
In a press release, the company said it plans to refurbish existing stores and expand into new markets, but Manson declined to offer details.
