Penny fund to benefit sick child

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, February 18, 2002

TUPELO, Miss. — A million pennies. That's what Powell sales rep Marty Libowsky wants to take away from the Tupelo Furniture Market — not for himself, but to help pay medical expenses for 8-year-old Camaron Ehlers of Milton, Fla., who recently had brain surgery to treat a ruptured aneurysm.

"I want to raise $10,000 for Camaron," Libowsky said. "If you're coming to Tupelo, please bring me a bag or a bucket of pennies."

Libowsky, known for his charitable projects at High Point markets, will have a giant container in the Powell showroom in Building IV for donated pennies. Donations also can be mailed to Dr. McDonald (that's Libowsky's charity moniker), P.O. Box 1379, Gulf Breeze, Fla. 32561.
