Badcock adds new-format units

MULBERRY, Fla. — MULBERRY, Fla. — Top 100 company W.S. Badcock has launched four more new-concept Badcock Home Furnishings & More stores in Alabama and Florida.
Eufaula, Ala., is home to a 14,000-square-foot store on Eufaula Avenue. Owner Paul Holley will handle the store's daily operations.
Also in Alabama, a 13,000-square-foot store has been converted to the new format on Cherokee Avenue SW in Cullman. Store owner Terry Richardson will run the unit.
In Crawford, Fla., a 7,000-square-foot Badcock Home Furniture and More store has been unveiled at 2591 Crawfordville Highway. Handling the daily operations is owner Russell Bryan.
An 11,000-square-foot store has been converted in Branford, Fla., on North Suwannee Avenue. Gary Olive is the owner and will run the store.
Of the 46 Badcock stores changed to the new format, all have seen sales increases between 20% and 70%, the company said. The goal is for 80% of Badcock's 340 stores to be converted to the new format by 2004.
