Hatcher, Robbins launch design firm

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Industry veterans David Hatcher and Bryan Robbins have formed an independent design company, Hatcher & Robbins Creative Design Services.
Hatcher, president of Hatcher & Robbins, most recently was the senior vice president of design and product development for Maitland-Smith and its La Barge subsidiary.
The new firm will provide design services for furniture, industrial and interior design, and architectural planning.
Hatcher and Robbins have 25 years of experience in designing home furnishings at medium and upper price points, including case goods, upholstery, lighting and accessories. They also have worked in interior and exterior design-related environmental planning.
With particular experience in international manufacturing and high-end products, Hatcher has worked with companies including Bernhardt, Drexel Heritage, Hen-redon, Highland House, Lexington Home Brands, Marge Carson, Robert Allen and Thomasville.
Robbins has a broad background in interior design, product design and retail presentation planning.
Hatcher said that in addition to serving the home furnishings industry, he and Robbins will serve a broad spectrum of industrial, architectural and interior design markets.
"It is apparent the time is right to approach the marketplace in a more professional manner. … It is incumbent to better understand the consumer and to project this understanding to the manufacturer distribution," Hatcher said. "In so doing, our Creative Design Services center will improve the confidence level of our convictions, as well as the confidence level of the furniture dealer and consumer."
