Friul Cassetti resumes shipments

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. — Italian contemporary case goods resource Friul Cassetti resumed shipments last week from a new source plant that will give the company increased capacity.
Friul Cassetti had interrupted shipments to obtain a final inventory count as part of a legal requirement in connection with the transfer of its sales, marketing and production division for the U.S. market to a new manufacturer in Italy.
Carlo De Re, president of Friul Cassetti's North American distributor, OIKIA, said the company sought another plant after its former plant's owners decided to concentrate on the Italian domestic market.
The move more than doubles production space, from 80,000 to 170,000 square feet, he said. "The effective production capacity will be three to five times greater than before, since the new plant is set up for three shifts," De Re said.
OIKIA will continue to handle all sales and marketing of Friul Cassetti products through its offices and warehouses in Florida and New Jersey.
