Florida Furniture unit open

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, March 24, 2002

HUDSON, Fla. — Florida Furniture Discounters has opened a warehouse and a Lane leather designer store in an industrial park in this city north of Clearwater-Tampa.

The warehouse/store is 16,500 square feet. The showroom, called Leather Designs by Florida Furniture, is 7,500 square feet.

Florida Furniture was founded by President Bob Dean and his wife, Teri, three years ago.

Teri Dean is joining the company as a full-time partner and will be leading the expansion of the leather stores. She was administrative assistant and legal assistant in the Hillsborough County property appraiser's office.

Bob Dean said, "We decided to stay in Hudson because we wanted the new store and warehouse to be close to corporate headquarters, and because this area will be the center of the market that Florida Furniture plans to be in five years from now. As we start adding stores, we want to focus on the U.S. 19 corridor south as well as high-pocket growth sections east of us."
