HIGH POINT — A pair of legendary bands that have been around for decades, Blood Sweat & Tears and the Spinners, will headline the High Point Market's Stars under the Stars concert series in April.
Blood Sweat & Tears will kick off the Centennial Celebration festivities Saturday night, April 25, as the High Point show marks its 100th anniversary.
Known for its bold horn section, the band burst onto the music scene in New York's Greenwich Village in the late 1960s. Selling millions of records and earning gold records with hits like “Spinning Wheel” and “You Make So Very Happy,” the band was among the first to combine rock and jazz.
On Sunday evening, April 26, '70s R&B group the Spinners will take the stage armed with a long playlist of hits including “Rubberband Man,” “One of a Kind (Love Affair),” “Could It Be I'm Falling in Love,” “Working My Way Back to You/Forgive Me, Girl,” “Then Came You,” “Games People Play,” and “I'll Be Around.”
On Monday evening, April 27, the Beatles tribute band 1964 will bring the Fab Four to life for marketgoers and new generations of fans.
“The Stars under the Stars events continue to be among the highlights of the guest experience here at market,” said Brian Casey, president and CEO of the High Point Market Authority.
“I encourage everyone to register for updates on the highpointmarket.org Web site as they make their travel plans to ensure they are making the most of this once-in-a-lifetime event.”
