Retailing at about $825 for a 5-foot-6 by 8-foot-6 size, the rugs bring the Martha Stewart Rugs collections into the moderate price bracket, according to Arash Yaraghi, a company principal.
"The first hand-tufted Martha Stewart Rugs will be shown in Las Vegas, but we have plans to add many more in High Point this spring," Yaraghi said.
"The collection focuses on re-creating expensive hand-knotted looks using high-quality hand-tufting. Proprietary effects created with hand-tufting in combinations of viscose and New Zealand wool allow us to cover all price points with the Martha Stewart Rugs collection," he said.
Safavieh also has its 2009 Martha Stewart Rugs catalog in its showroom here, in World Market Center A-101. The full-color, 48-page catalog will be offered free to Martha Stewart Rugs dealers.
Yaraghi also said a new Web microsite is in the works with Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia. When completed, it will highlight the new rugs and direct consumers to dealers.
