Spring Air licenses pads, etc.

Chicago — Bedding major Spring Air has licensed a North Carolina-based textile company to produce a line of Spring Air branded mattress pads, bed pillows and throws.
Perfect Fit Inds. is nationally marketing those products using a variety of Spring Air trade names, including the Spring Air Collection, the Comfort Caress Collection and the Four Seasons Collection. Each collection targets a different channel of distribution.
The collections offer a choice of luxury fabrics and branded DuPont polyester fill for added comfort and support.
"Perfect Fit is an excellent match for Spring Air to expand the company's brand name into new markets," said Jim Nation, Spring Air's president.
Perfect Fit, based in Charlotte, N.C., introduced the products in the textiles market late last year.
The mattress pads, pillows and throws are also being sold by Spring Air's existing dealers, where they offer add-on sales possibilities.
"When consumers buy a mattress they often buy pillows and mattress pads," said Todd Zimmerman, Spring Air's director of marketing and public relations. "Why not have the products right there?"
He said the exposure the licensed products give Spring Air in new channels of distribution provides additional marketing support for the Spring Air brand.
