WHFA launches Web microsite for conference

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, February 9, 2009

The Western Home Furnishings Assn. has launched an online microsite with information about its 2009 Conference and Expo, set for May 17-19 in Hawaii.

The microsite www.whfaconference.com, created in partnership with Internet strategy firm FurnitureDealer.net, is divided into four sections — wala'au (networking), papa hana (agenda), hana (activities) and kakau inoa (registration details).

Attendees can register online, then chat with other retailers on the discussion forums and sign up and suggest topics for the retailer roundtables on the conference schedule. The site also has links to the Westin Maui, the host hotel, and Hawaiian Airlines.

Registration is $495 for WHFA members and $595 for nonmembers. Teams traveling together qualify for a discounted $395 registration fee. The WHFA has negotiated hotel rates that begin at $220 a night. The $25 a day resort fee will be waived for attendees who book their rooms before Feb. 1.

“This year's conference microsite has everything that an attendee needs to get energized and registered for conference,” said Sharron Bradley, WHFA executive director. “The focus of conference and the microsite is on expanding your mind through networking, education, innovation and fun, which is exactly what retailers need during this challenging economy.”

For more information, visit the microsite or call (800) 422-3778.
