HIGH POINT — The High Point City Council last week authorized up to $100,000 in incentives to help case goods and upholstery importer Schnadig to move its corporate offices and other operations to High Point.
Schnadig, which was acquired last month by Chinese manufacturer Markor International, wants to consolidate its corporate offices in Des Plaines, Ill., and a warehouse in Belmont, Miss., into a single facility in High Point. The site also may have some manufacturing.
If Schnadig does move to High Point, company officials told the City Council that about 70 jobs would be added by 2012.
